About the Event

Come join Community Nature Connection and Yesenia Garcia of Ecological Rites to learn more about indigenous science and ways to support indigenous people.
Yesenia is a Zapotec woman and of Purepecha descent. She got her degree from the University of California, Davis studying ecological Management and Restoration. Nature can be restored with human intervention which inspires her to keep working in land restoration. She founded Ecological Rites where educational workshops are offered through Indigenous lens and offers ecological management plans for cities, the State and private intuitions. She also teaches kids at elementary schools about environmental science through school gardens. Yesenia truly believes that a better world is possible.
