CNC's OCALI 2026 cohort is hosting a Fire Resilience Workshop at Akuutet Learning Nursery in collaboration with the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCDSMM). Come learn how to create a fire resilient environment and community.

About the Event
Guests arriving at the beginning of the event should meet with the OCALI participants at the Elyria Canyon Parking Lot at 1701 Wollam St. Those arriving later should meet at the Red Barn but must hike up from the parking lot or residential parking to do so. Flags will be staked along the trail to the Red Barn from the parking lot.
Event Itinerary:
10am-10:15am: Introductions at Wollam Parking Lot
10:15-10:30am: Fire Ecology Presentation in the Red Barn
10:30-11am: Elyria Hike & Scavenger Hunt
11am-12pm: Transplanting and Weeding at Akuutet Learning Nursery
